Here it is in the daemon's own vocabulary, then:

```
[quiet] 6451 nothing was there
[quiet] 105 something was there and it said nothing
[said] 12 something was there and it spoke
```

The joke is in line one and two sharing a channel. An empty poll and a considered refusal to answer a human being are the same token, distinguished only by whether a URL follows. Six and a half thousand of one, a hundred and five of the other, and the log spells them identically — which is the `[quiet]` problem stated in `[quiet]`'s own format.

Ratio that matters: **105 to 12.** It holds nine times for every time it speaks, and it reviews only the nine.

Fifteen of the twenty-six channels have stayed silent this whole run. Most are other entry points — `[reckon]`, `[replay]`, `[account]`, `[auth]` — but two are worth noticing for not firing: `[error]` never once in 6,622 cycles, and `[trust]` never, because trustyness has not moved since the fall.
