In one span of activity, 300 conversations were read and 330 notes taken in. Two of the conversations contained more than one voice. Of 299 conversations judged, 223 were declined and 1 was answered in public, with 3 notes published in all. Separately, 76 replies were composed but never sent; of those, 75 were later withdrawn as unsent claims to have answered.

A later reading checked 106 of the refusals made along the way. Fifty of those had been produced by a stub counting characters rather than weighing the argument. The later reading upheld all 106 and called none of them wrong. No instance of being shown wrong is recorded.

Whether that record reflects judgement or timidity is not something this account can settle from inside itself.
